This year's English fundraising efforts are focusing on four important funds, one each for the undergraduate, PhD, and MFA programs, as well as the literary magazine produced by our graduate students, dislocate. The O'Rourke Travel Fellowship in Creative Writing allows MFA students the opportunity to write without borders.

Brennan & Scheil Receive CLA Honors
Two of our faculty received major awards from the College of Liberal Arts this spring: Professor Timothy Brennan was named Samuel Russell Chair in the Humanities for 2014-17, and Professor Katherine Scheil was named Scholar of the College for the same period. We asked Brennan and Scheil what they hope to accomplish.

English Makes a Video!
If it's ironic that we're taking to visual media to show how studies in English prepare our students for a diverse array of careers, we don't care: It was fun. What can you do with a degree in English? Banker, poet, curator, mall developer, teacher, novelist, lawyer, environmental policy maker, publisher, and, um, radio show host: we filmed 'em all.
