Scott Carlson (BA 1998), Senior Reporter at The Chronicle for Higher Education, was a guest lecturer at the University of Vermont in November, where he presented "Tools for Life: Practical Knowledge, Reinventing Education, and Rebuilding America" and gave a talk to journalism students about how to make a living as a writer. (It can be done!)
Scott Dominic Carpenter (BA 1980) had his novel Theory of Remainders named to Kirkus Reviews' "Best Books of 2013."
Trisha Collopy (BA 1993) has been a reporter, copy editor, and science writer and is currently a full-time faculty member at Anoka-Ramsey Community College.
Nadia B. Hasan (BA 2002; JD 2006) graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School. She has practiced law for nine years, first with Johnson & Condon, then Hinshaw & Culbertson, and since last summer in the Minneapolis office of Cozen O'Connor, where she specializes in commercial litigation. Naomi Ko (BA 2011) has a featured role in the film Dear White People, which premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival this January and earned a Special Jury Award for Breakthrough Talent for its director Justin Simien. While Ko has acted and written for such local theaters as Mixed Blood, Theatre in the Round, Mu Performing Arts, and Bedlam, this is her first screen role. Read our interview with Ko.
Carey Ma (BA 2005) is an English Language Arts teacher at Frederick Douglass Academy in New York City. He was a Corps Member Advisor in Queens for Teach for America in 2007-08.

Ilana Ostrin (BA 2011) took an internship in political journalism in D.C. during the 2012 election cycle. She then found work in the world of scientific, medical, and government publishing. She is Peer Review Coordinator for the Journal of Biological Chemistry and Molecular & Cellular Proteomics, both journals of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Madeline Van Cleve (BA 2011) was awarded a Distinguished Graduate Fellowship to the UW-Madison Department of Landscape Architecture for the 2013-14 academic year.
