Nicole Hines (BA 2005) is employed at Avant, a language technology company that works with colleges and school districts to assess foreign language learning, proficiency, and program effectiveness. She has been at Avant for five years, first in assessment production and then as coordinator of production, before moving into sales. She earned an MA in Applied Linguistics and an MEd from Georgia State University in 2008. She is also an adjunct faculty member at a college (Madison College) and university (MSOE-Milwaukee School of Engineering University) teaching communication classes.

Scott D. Carpenter (BA 1980) won a $6000 2015 Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant. Carpenter will complete a novel dealing with a father's struggle to connect with his estranged son. Carpenter is the author of the 2013 novel Theory of Remainders and story collection This Jealous Earth. He is Professor of French at Carleton College.

Jason Heaton (BA 1997) was profiled in The Star Tribune about his career as a watch critic. He reviews watches, and especially dive watches, for magazines focused on time pieces. "I take a dive watch once a quarter to a different locale. Galapagos, Belize, places like that," he told the newspaper.

Jamie Millard (BA 2009), Co-Executive Director at Pollen, was named one of "100 People to Know in 2015" by Twin Cities Business Magazine.

Mark Mishek (BA 1974; JD 1977) is the CEO and President of the newly merged Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. He had served in the same capacity for Hazelden since 2008. He was also named one of "100 People to Know in 2015" by Twin Cities Business Magazine. Our interview with Mishek here.

Danielle Noyes (BA 2008) has joined marketing design agency Olive & Company as project manager. Noyes manages client projects from start to finish, ensuring that the work gets done properly, on time and on target. She also coordinates internal staff and resources to optimize project efficiency. Noyes previously worked as a project manager at Fallon, Martin|Williams and FAME.

Moira Pirsch (BA 2010) is a PhD Candidate in English Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. She received her Masters of Education, Arts, at Harvard Graduate School of Education.
